Oregon State Capitol Tour

Oregon’s State Capitol is located in the city of Salem Oregon. In the heart of the Willamette Valley. Our day at the Oregon State Capitol allowed us to enjoy a tour of the building. With the sun shining brightly outside, we were able to climb the 121 steps to the Rotunda to see the Oregon Pioneer up close.

The Oregon Pioneer is a 23-foot bronze statue gilded with gold leaf.  The gold man was designed to symbolize early Euro-American Settlers.

The view of the city is wonderful and you can see for miles in all directions.

We had a great view of the Oregon State Capitol Park.

The capital grounds are made up parks called: Willson Park, Walk of Flags, Capitol Park and the Oregon State Capitol Park.

Then we were off to tour the building and visit the House of Representatives while they were in session.

The House of Representatives is made up of 60 members from all around the State of Oregon.

There was even time to visit the Governor’s office and sit her chair at her desk where all the action happens for our state.
