We have many wonderful waterfalls in Oregon. Some are in remote places and others are very easy to get to. It is always an adventure to head to the countryside to spend the day visiting mother nature and take a hike. Oregon waterfalls are icing on the cake at the end of the hike.

Bridal Veil Falls is just one of the many waterfalls to embrace here in Oregon. It is a short hike about 0.6 mile round trip hike. It will get your heart to pumping on the way back to the parking lot. It is all up hill.

There are benches for those of you who would like to stop and enjoy the woods and take a break.

This is a fun hike with a great view of the waterfall when you reach the end of the trail.

The weather is changing and it is getting nice outside. This is the time where many of us are making plans with our family and friends to have fun this year. Sometimes we get all caught up with going, we are forget to really prepare for these fun adventures.

Getting to know the plants on the trail.

Getting to know the plants on the trail.

Make sure you prepare for those adventures. Get to know your surroundings and have a plan in case of an emergency. Take extra food and water, an emergency/first aid kit, and make sure everyone on the outing knows where to meet if separated from the group.  It is always good to know of some of the dangers like poisonous plants in the area that you are visiting.

Here in the Pacific Northwest and all around the Willamette Valley we have many plants which are very friendly but, we do have some that are not so friendly.

Poison oak is one of those plants that is not friendly to us. It can grow as a vine or a shrub. It can be without leaves in the winter. During the spring and fall the leaves will be red and green and very pretty. During the summer poison oak will be a solid green. It can look just like small oak trees. But, don’t be fooled. If you touch this plant it will give you a very uncomfortable itchy rash. Sometimes with blisters… And, it will spread if you scratch it.

We want you to have lots of fun and to beware of the dangers that may be out there when you are having fun this year.

So, as you get ready for your adventures and journeys this year. Make plans to be safe and enjoy all the exciting moments you, your family and friends are going to have.

We invite you to take a look at our website and give us a call if you would like to join us for one of our adventures. We have many of them throughout the years.

Have you been to a summer concert in your town or city? Many cities and towns all around Oregon offer an enjoyable evening of music in their parks. Last night we enjoyed an array of music in McMinnville.  Last night there was a little blues, rock-n-roll and old time music. Something for everyone.

006

It is a time to set aside all the worries of the day and take your picnic dinner and chairs to the park. You will be surprised at how many people you will meet or even know at the park. As we enjoyed the music we also enjoyed watching the children dance and play games.

012

So, check your with your city or town and see when they are having a night of music in the park. If they do not have an event like this one. Maybe you can get a few friends together that play music and have some fun in the park.

Happy Forth of July!

We have many things to be thankful for. One of them is the reason we can celebrate the Forth of July. Remember all those who have made this Holiday of Independence possible for us to enjoy.

There are many events to take part in: Concerts, BBQ’s, Family gatherings, Festivals and Outdoor sports and fun at the local rivers and lakes.

Don’t forget why we are able to celebrate this holiday. Be proud of our country, our flag and who we are. I know I am proud to be an American and we live in an amazing country.

So, be safe and use good judgment in all you do this 4th of July. Enjoy your family, your friends and the moments you get to spend together. These memories will last you forever.

Let us know if you would like to join us on one of our great Oregon adventures.
